Online Salary Information
There are several Web-based salary tools, but most of them show advertising before giving you a free report.
- Salary.com has the most data points for pediatricians. You enter your zip code, and if there is not enough data, it will not provide an answer. Coverage is quite comprehensive.
- Payscale requires you to contribute your own data before it will give you an answer. There are a number of pages of data input required.
- SalaryExpert also requires you to contribute your own data before it will give you an answer.
- SalarySource only offers paid reports.
- Glass Door offers salary information contributed anonymously by employees. For a pediatrician, this would be applicable only for large employers. There are a few contributions on the site, so it is worth checking.
- Vault offers reviews of employers contributed anonymously by employees. Again, for a pediatrician, this would be applicable only for large employers. There are a few contributions on the site, so it is worth checking.
- 2009 AMGA Medical Group Compensation and Financial Survey has data representative of large multi-specialty group practices; the average is over 250 physicians.
- The MGMA Physician Compensation and Production Survey: 2009 Report Based on 2008 Data has data representative of small group practices. This survey is available for purchase, but it costs a significant amount.
- The Delta Companies offers The Physician Recruiting Standard and The Healthcare Recruiting Standard. They are "free, quarterly resources from The Delta Companies providing a summary of physician and healthcare specialist compensation, placement data, and market trends in recruitment."
