PedJobs Career Highlights
I practice general Pediatrics in an underserved area of New Jersey. I love general pediatrics because I am contributing to the well being of the patient population. It's an honor to be the first physician they see when they have a problem. It is also a privilege and an opportunity to promote preventive medicine at almost every office visit.
I found my job through a locum tenens agency. While I am not bilingual in Spanish, I am quickly picking up the phrases and terms necessary to bridge the language gap. The medical staff is quick and eager to help translate for me. Most parents are extremely patient with a doctor who doesn't speak their language fluently.
The patients and their parents respect the medical profession just as I respect their need for access to medical care. Working in Perth Amboy, NJ is both a challenging and rewarding experience.
